Goldfish was nominated for the 15th 2012 DJ awards held in Ibiza in the Live Electronic catagory.
Unfortunately we lost out to one of our musical heroes Faithless, but it was just an honour to be included in such esteemed company in the Live Electronic catagory, including Guy Gerber, Hot Chip and Paul Kalkbrenner.
We’re also proud to be the first South African act to be nominated..
Next Year we’ll win this thing!

15th Edition DJ Awards, Pacha, Ibiza celebrated with Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Faithless Sound System, Solomun, Seth Troxler and many more…..
Presented by the charismatic duo of Des Paul and Lucy Horobin, the 15th edition of the DJ Awards have celebrated once again those artists and industry movers, who have made the most significant impact on the electronic music scene, with 9 Special Awards judged by an independent music panel, and 10 categories voted for by the public – ranging from House to Techno, Downtempo to Deep House.
Was a night like no other Pacha had seen, bringing together DJ´s from all over the world under the same roof. Awards went to the new category Electronic Live Performance, which was presented to Faithless Sound System. Joint celebrations with Richie Hawtin and Luciano walking away with the special award for Ibiza Night, Enter at Space, and Vagabundos at Pacha. Track of the Season went to Pirupa for “Party Non Stop”, which has stormed every dancefloor across each and every club.
Seth Troxler picked up the award for Tech House, Deep House was presented to Maceo Plex. Chase & Status and Arty were also recipients of the coveted DJ Awards Kryptonite for the Dubstep/Bass and Newcomer categories. Tiesto picked up for Electro House,
It was a memorable night for Armin Van Buuren who won two awards. Armin scooped Trance and International DJ went to Carl Cox topped the Techno category as last years edition.
In the Special Awards, there was a new accolade this year for Ibiza Live Performance which went to Lenny Kravitz at Ibiza 123 after an exceptional performance this summer at Ibiza 123, Pino Sagliocco from the organization accepted on his behalf.
Andy Baxter walked away with Ibiza DJ, Pacha Magazine was given the award for Media celebrating 10 years, while International Festival went to Tomorrowland from Belgium.
Australia was given recognition this year for Dance Nation of the Year, the Nervo sisters accepted this award on their behalf, and Solomun won a well deserved Producer award.
This year´s event saw a stunning live performance from Aimée Sophia, plus an exclusive live concert with Hercules & Love Affair, a first for both the band and Pacha, was an electrifying gig.
As the winners, celebrated into the early hours, the after party for DJ Awards was celebrated with Renaissance on their 20th Anniversary… Solomon, Huxley, Jonathan Cowan, and Ibiza DJ winner took over on the decks to end another memorable night for DJ Awards … see you on the 16th edition and thanks everyone who attended what a night!l
