During last week’s Amsterdam Dance Event, the South-African Dance act Goldfish signed an agreement with EMI Music Netherlands. Goldfish is very successful in South-Africa and The Netherlands, but their popularity increases in the countries Germany, Brazil and the United States amongst others. Yesterday, after the closing of the ADE, the band departed for a tour in the United Kingdom.
Erwin Goegebeur, Chairman of EMI Music Benelux, is very proud with this latest signing: “It has been obvious for some time that Goldfish is a very special act. The exciting mixture of Dance combined with live instruments and jazz influences induced several successful shows and hundreds of enthusiastic fans this ADE. With David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia and Deadmau5 in the roster, EMI confirms it’s prominent position within a contemporary and popular genre. This signing is very special, because Goldfish holds the potential to instantly explode worldwide. An exceptional high number of our foreign EMI colleagues share our enthusiasm.”
Goldfish’s reaction: “We are excited to be working with a fantastic team at EMI who we believe have the capacity to take Goldfish to the next level worldwide. EMI has an amazing roster of Dance Music Legends and it's great to be a part of that now. This is just the beginning!”
Goldfish continue their successful relationship with Sony Music South Africa for the Southern African Territories.
